Bend Endurance Academy and Hayden Homes are proud to present the Hayden Homes Bend Summer Comp– A bouldering competition for all ages and abilities.  Bend Summer Comp provides a high-quality climbing competition for both the seasoned competitor and the climber who is still new to the game.  This is a one of a kind event for Central Oregon and offers a high-level experience for the competitor while providing an exciting sporting event for the spectator. The qualification rounds at Bend Rock Gym allows entrants to climb top-notch boulder problems while vying for a coveted spot in the finals round held at Goodlife Brewing and a chance at a slice of the $13,000 cash/prize purse.  Youth climbers will have their moment to shine during the Grom Squad Finals held Friday night at Bend Rock Gym.

Whether you’re trying to earn a spot in the finals, or just want to watch and cheer on some of the top climbers in the US go head to head, this event is not to be missed.

Categories and Formats

Adult Open Category (born in 2001 or earlier)
Male: V7+
Female: V7+

Adult "For Funzies" Category (born in 2001 or earlier)
Male: VFun - VFunzy+
Female: VFun - VFunzy+

Youth Categories (born in 2002+)
Born in 2002 or Later

Qualifiers Format - All Categories
The qualifying rounds will be a redpoint format for all categories and will be peer judged. Climbers will have three hours to climb and scores will be the total sum of the hardest five boulder problems completed. Ties will be broken by attempts.

Grom Squad Finals
The only youth-specific bouldering finals in Oregon! The top five male and top five female youth climbers (born in 2002 or later) will go head to head in an onsight finals at Bend Rock Gym.

We will use the following hybrid point scoring system for the Grom Squad Finals.

  • TOPS = 25 points Flash a problem and you get 25 points
  • Zones = 5 points for each zone Each climb has three zones. Control the first zone and receive 5 points; second zone and receive 10 points; the third, 15 points
  • Falls = subtract .10 points Every fall to the highest scored point (top or zone) results in a deduction of .10 points

Open Finals
Get ready to watch and cheer on your favorite climber in the exciting finals at Goodlife Brewing. The top five males and top five females from the Open/Pro qualifiers will compete under the lights and in front of the crowd.

For the Open Finals, we will use a 100 point hybrid scoring system.
